App Smackdown

For my app smack-down I decided to talk about the First Aid: American Red Cross app. This app helps understanding injuries and teaches us how to help in emergency situations. It gives information about different types of injuries like concussions, asthma attacks and strains. It explains what the injuries are to people who might not be familiar with them. Then it gives step-by-step instruction to follow if a situation ever occurs. This app also gives you the option to call 911 if needed from the app. This app is also helpful for student who are learning about first aid in class because it gives quizzes to check what you've learned.

This app is great for anyone who is planning to be in the medical field especially because people are always getting hurt and needing medical help and this app is very helpful to learn what to do in certain situation. This app can be for anyone also, not just for people in the medical field. People are always getting hurt around us or they might have allergies and an illness like asthma. This app also gives you instruction on what to do during a weather emergency like hurricanes and tornadoes so this app is helpful for everyone.

  1. Pamela, I knew that the Red Cross taught CPR classes, but I didn't even realize that they had an app! This sounds so useful for students and people who are more interested in responding to emergencies and such, but also for typical people to just obtain more information so they can be more helpful bystanders.

This application could be useful not just for people in the healthcare profession but for anyone to use in case they find themselves in a situation where they may need to help themselves or someone else. 5. I never know there is a first-aid app. I was a member of the St.John Ambulance, and I know how important first-aid is. Promotion is always a big issue that people may not want to pay for the first-aid course. Also, members do not take re-exam regularly. Therefore, this app is greatly valuable to keep everyone familiar with first-aid skills, with a hope to help as many people as we can in the emergent situation. Thanks for introducing this app!

  8. This app could potentially save someones life or prevent them from sustaining permanent injuries if users are able to use knowledge from the app in the event of an emergency. After viewing many apps that help with injuries and sicknesses I believe their needs to be one major app that includes all useful information needed for medical emergencies.

  11. I didn’t know about this app before but it sounds like something I will be downloading soon! I work in the athletic training department at school and we are required to be cpr certified and I can’t always remember everything we have learned so this seems like an app that could be a great refresher. I like how this app can be used for medical professionals but also people who just want to be more informed in case something does happen in front of them. Great Job!!
