Hello Pamela, I enjoyed how you did your presentation not on a specific person but a company. This presentation shows the companies are only as good as the people who run them. I personally believe that even though it was negative publicity, there is no such thing as bad publicity when trying to market and sell products. I say this regarding how showed other companies that made the same “mistake.” This makes me wonder if it really was a mistake or a marketing ploy.
Pamela, I really liked how this presentation was about a company as well! Companies often have a hard time on the social media aspect of things because so many people are involved in the same think. I think although the situation wasn't the best, people also started to hear more about the company and what can happen behind the scenes.
Pamela, I really enjoyed your presentation about Gucci. It is surprising to me that a company could post and advertise such material when there are so many individuals in the editing process to make the comparison between the photo and blackface. It definitely points out the important fact that people and companies always need to take everything into account when posting.
Hi Pamela, I agree that the sweater that Gucci released looked very similar to the racist blackface. I do think that Gucci’s apology was professional and clear. However, Gucci should have done more research on past offensive products before releasing such a controversial sweater. Good job!
Pamela, As others said, I enjoyed that you did your project on a company rather than a specific person. I agree that Gucci should have been more sensitive when releases this sweater. It makes me surprised when companies and individuals do stuff like this since they have so many people and information outlets to let them know this is wrong before it even comes out.
Pamela, this Gucci sweater and advertisement is a great example of poor social media etiquette. I can’t believe that a company thought this would be okay to promote.
I am too broke to buy anything Gucci, but I never knew about the sweater advertisement. That is a horrible sweater, and a terrible advertisement for Gucci. It was good that they apologized, but hopefully people do not forget about that sweater post.
hi, Great work! I liked how you included a video of yourself talking along with the presentation! I think you chose a great scandal to talk about as it is extremely recent and is something that has been talked about for a little while now. I actually learned about the historical context of "Blackface" in one of my classes last semester and I think for a company like Gucci to mistreat it was totally wrong. I agree with others that although they apologized, I think this may have hurt their brand just a little bit.
I like this presentation because this is an example of an actual advertisement and a business as a whole being messed up by social media , as opposed to just one person. I think you did a great job showing how they mishandled this.
Hi! Great job on this presentation!! I had never heard about this until watching your presentation so I was very interested. Ideally this makes an enormous impact on their sales and shows the world what happens in situations like this.
Pamela, This is a very interesting presentation and I liked how you used a company rather than just a single individual which nobody else has done yet. Very good presentation and I really enjoyed it!
I remember seeing this on the news and I remember being shocked. What could they have possibly been thinking by releasing these sweaters. I imagine there has to be a lot of people involved in creating this and a lot of people need to approve it before it hits the market. It's mind boggling that it sipped through the cracks like that.
Hello! I thought this a great presentation; I specifically liked how you chose to examine the etiquette of an overall company, rather an individual. Gucci definitely deserved to be under fire for this one because of how blatant the wrong doing was. Even if they say their intentions were not to promote black facing, it simply did not matter.
Hello Pamela! This is such a great example because Gucci is such a widely recognized company! Gucci was definitely wrong in having that sweater on their website and they made the right decision to take it down immediately and issue an apology. I think that Gucci is a huge company and you would think that an item such as that would never have made it onto their online store!
Hey Pamela! Really interesting presentation. It was very different from the ones I have listened to before. I thought it was awesome to investigate a company as opposed to an individual as many of us had. I was shocked that a company, like Gucci, would attempt to get away with something on this level.
Hi Pamela, I really liked your presentation on Gucci. I really like this brand and I was totally unaware of this incident until now. They should have never sold those sweaters. It's good that they apologized after this incident.
Hi Pamela, I really enjoyed your presentation and how you described aa very sensitive topic excellently. It's a shame that Gucci created this type of clothing and apparel. I hope he pays for what he is trying to promote. He should leave history alone and not bring back a racist, disrespectful image into his industry. Thank you for sharing this and good job!
